Our Mission

You don't have to be an artist to be creative. At Maggie & Ellie's we think life is better with a little sparkle. We want you to step outside your comfort zone, have fun and laugh a lot.

What to Expect

Maggie and Ellie's is an adorable paint your own pottery and art studio in Strongsville, Ohio offering a variety of art mediums. Paint your own pottery, glass fusing, canvas painting and board art all available.  These can be done on a walk-in basis if you are comfortable being self-guided (don't worry, we're still there to answer any questions and get you started).  If you like more structure, sign up for one of our classes.  Check out our calendar to see what we are offering each month.  No experience or artistic ability is needed and we will guide you through the entire process.

Our Promise

At Maggie and Ellie's, it’s not just about painting a piece of pottery. It's about having an incredible experience. When you walk into our doors, we want you to feel like you just walked into a friends' house. If you didn't say "I had so much fun, I can't wait to go back!", we didn't do our job. We're open five days a week, with special hours during the holidays. If you have a group activity that can only be done on a Monday or Tuesday, we'll do our best to accommodate you.  Just contact us to arrange this. We can't wait to meet you!

Our Namesakes

Portraits by Leigh Demshar

Maggie
Maggie is a 10 year old poodle mix who isn't convinced she is a dog.  She is very laid back and her favorite past-time is moving cars (when a car is moved in the driveway, Maggie has to go along for the ride).

Ellie
Ellie is a 6 year old Boston Terrier who has more energy than 5 dogs combined.  Ellie's favorite past-time is "snuggling" her toys (that's code for "destroying").  Ellie has the sweetest disposition and wants nothing more than to be best friends with Maggie.  Maggie wants no part of it.

The Other Gals

Barb Disterhof
is the owner of Maggie & Ellie's.  After working in administration in the profit, and non-profit industries for the past 30 years, she decided to fulfill her dream of working for herself. You will find her here every day running the shop.

Kerry Heil
is a retired nurse who just can't slow down.  Kerry is here one or two days a week, along with working another part-time job. Don't blink or you'll miss her - she is always running around making sure everything is in it's place.

Stacey Disterhof
manages day to day operations of the studio while she balances school as she pursues her dream of nursing.  She has amazing customer service skills and will do everything she can to make sure you are having the best experience possible.

Deb Mewes
is our favorite pinch-hit player.  Deb is always available to fill in when we have parties and events planned.  Deb is very talented at all of our art mediums and is willing to share her skills and talents.

Jordyn Hanna
is currently in college studying to be a middle school teacher.  Along with regular duties of taking care of customers and keeping the studio running, she is putting her education to good use by planning and teaching our summer art program for the past two years.

Taylor Witherspoon
is a high school student who won us over with her love of painting.  She is a great addition to the staff and an eager student - learning front and back of studio duties.
